Marginal Notes on a Body Slipping Away

What happens to stories that disappear in political uprisings? In this performance, everyday objects reveal hidden lives by mirroring the body.

Marginal Notes on a Body Slipping Away is a performance and video that tells the story of a woman who loses her sight in a protest. She can no longer see the world the way she used to, and therefore begins to perceive life through the eyes of everyday objects – objects that are closest to her body and part of her environment. With this altered perception, her imagination becomes a space of survival and memory.

A dance theater production inspired by "Revelations of Divine Love", written by medieval mystic Julian of Norwich in 1373. A series of “showings” / fragments, danced by 11 performers. An interrogation on vision, a dream, a prayer, a spell... because sometimes, seeing is believing… and sometimes, the most real things are those which cannot be seen at all.
